Video
Video uniquely captures the richness and complexity of behavior and the subtle details of the surrounding context. So, we use video in every study to record how behavior unfolds. With the appropriate video-coding tools, viewers can manipulate space and time to explore, visualize, and analyze behavior. We developed Datavyu, a free, open-source coding tool, to powerfully annotate video data and to time-lock user-defined codes to their locations in the video. We founded Databrary, a secure web-based video library, to support scientific transparency and to speed progress through video reuse. We are developing new tools based on computer vision to augment human-based video coding.
